You may have heard about Myofascial release, but don't really know what it is or why you should do it. This workshop will show you. I'll explain how fascia works, how rolling on those little balls helps and you'll see the effects first hand. The myofascial release practice will be combined with light yoga movement.

our Release program works to unclog, unbind, recharge and release our physical bodies from the stashed fear, anger and inadequacy we feel. It is a two hour long program taught by 4 Shine teachers using a combination of deep body work, cathartic movement, mediation and fun to open back up your physical body. There will be kundalini, Buti, group energy work, and restorative yoga meant to ease your adrenals, and wake you up to your own life force. Following Release we begin our second cycle of the RISE program. The RISE program is designed to revitalize our intuition, our strength and our Embodiment as women. Deep down you know you are magic. It's time to turn it all the way on.
It's scary to jump into something like yoga. Even scarier to go to a "real" yoga studio for the first time. I remember how nervous I was for my first class. But, here's the thing, I love teaching brand new beginners more than anyone else. I'm having a special workshop for yogi newbies, called YOGA 101. It's 2 hours to learn all the basics safely. Breast Cancer is the reason for Shine Yoga. It came out of my devastating experience as a breast cancer survivor. Each year, Paige organizes a special event to raise money for the amazing Breast Cancer Network of WNY. I’ve taught at the BCN. It’s a beautiful, supportive place, and what I love most about it is that it creates community, it gives survivors and people who are going through treatment support, resources and each other.
This year’s special donation class is in that same vein. It recognizes that cancer leaves deep wounds and it celebrates that we heal them together.
On the 17th, Paige and Sara will co-teach a class that recognizes the deep wounds of cancer ( and life) and celebrates our ability to move past them with a little help from our friends.
Celebrations continue at The Grange post class, where we will be feasting on happy hour priced foods and special cocktails all evening long.
Shine will donate $10 per person attending the class to the BCN. If you have a class pass or membership, we would love an additional donation, but your membership or pass will pay for the class. Drop in price is $20 as usual.

Please sign up for the class and arrive early as we have a limited capacity. 10 minutes before the start of class we will begin to allow people into the class who did not reserve a spot ahead of time.
Suggested donation for classes and photoshoot is $15. We welcome everyone! No need to donate if you can't. Proceeds from the silent auction, the class and the photoshoot go towards scholarships for participants who can not afford Shine's Special Programs for Women and Girls. We will also be collecting material items for the women who take shelter at the Kathleen Mary House in Hamburg.

This class is an opportunity for caregivers and their little ones to play together while exploring and experimenting with yoga concepts such as asana, mindfulness, breathing, and meditation. Children learn from play, so classes are inviting, and semi-structured, allowing children to join and progress at their own pace. Designed for children 2-4, but siblings are welcomed. A judgment free space to feed your babies. Be silly. Sing, dance, pose, breathe. Connect to each other and the other caregivers and children, as we work to move from the monkey mind towards stillness (or however close they are ready to get!)
Allison is a master's level mental health counselor with experience in play therapy. A 200hr registered yoga teacher, and certified for kids yoga through Kidding Around Yoga. She will be "assisted" by her own 3yr old and infant!
A program based on our women's empowerment program for adults. The program will be co-lead by Beth, Sara, and Beth's 14 year old daughter Ella. The program will focus on helping girls to find their voice, advocate for themselves and support each other. Our aim is to help girls learn to navigate the world in a way that allows them to hold on to their true selves. Girls 13-18 are welcome. Enroll today
Coming this summer! Shine is partnering with our local salt cave--Southtowns Salt Cave--to offer yoga classes. The class will be gentle and grounding. There is only room for nine, so you must preregister and prepay (in our studio to online). The salt is amazing! Improves circulation and lymph function, relieves joint and bone pain, is relaxing and even softens skin. I got a membership I loved it so much. Plus its cool in the cave. They keep it at 68 degrees. Normally it costs $45 for 45 minutes in the cave. But, for yoga we get an hour and it's $35. Buy a package of 4 and that price goes down to $30 per class. Here are the links. Reserve your spot.

Excited to be hosting Lyndsey Stropkey, John and Matthew J. Petkowicz this Saturday, May 12th at 12:30 pm for a live music yoga class and mantra meditation. Class cost and donations go to the musicians. John and Matt will be playing the Grange later that day as part of the Hamburg music festival.
