Learn the principles of traditional yoga- often called Hatha Yoga. In Sanskrit, the ancient language of yoga, Hatha means sun/moon. It is built on the idea of creating wellness though balance, both physical and mental. In this workshop we will explore and experiment with common held postures found in many beginner classes. We will dicuss the link between postures, breathing, and meditation as a path to self-awareness and wellbeing. 

Whether you are brand new to yoga, want to encorporate some of these elements more deliberately into your current  practice, or maybe you have questions that you never found a good time to ask during a group class- this is a great workshop for you.

Kundalini Demystefied

Curious? Learn the ins and outs of this seemingly esoteric style of yoga that was created to be just the opposite--yoga for the people rather than the gurus. Learn what the purpose of chanting and repetitive movement is and how kundalini can benefit you. (Hint: purification, support for addiction problems, energetic awareness, cardio and muscle building)

You will also learn the 8 main movements (kriyas) and breathing techniques (pranayama) you will use in a kundalini class. And the chants that are typically used, so you will never feel intimidated in a class. 

If you want to get deeper into your kundalini practice, this will give you the whys of the practice. If you have been wondering what Kundalini is, this will take it slow and allow you to get a taste of it without having to jump into a class.

Kid's Yoga is here for the summer! Four Classes will be held on various Sundays at 12:30pm and will run for 40 minutes. Our teacher is pediatric occupational therapist, and 200hr Shine Yoga Certified teacher Christy Shields! In order for the course to run, we will need 10 students enrolled. 

Dates are: July 21, July 28, August 4, August 11th

Spring Jumpstart!


This spring we will shed. We’ll get rid of the physical, mental, and emotional gunk. We’ll start to feel like ourselves again. Join us for a change in diet, a week long detox, and yoga to match. Three days of yoga per week at the studio is all you need to do to be a part of it. The program lasts one month and includes a detox diet and recipes, sleep hygiene and journaling prompts. We also have a group Facebook page and prizes for completes. Give yourself renewal, come join our community. Kick off is March 31st at 12:30pm. It’s a soup swap. Bring 4-6 small containers of vegan soup to exchange with other jumpstarters! Yoga log and diet changes begin April 1st.

our Release program works to unclog, unbind, recharge and release our physical bodies from the stashed fear, anger and inadequacy we feel. It is a two hour long program taught by 4 Shine teachers using a combination of deep body work, cathartic movement, mediation and fun to open back up your physical body. There will be kundalini, Buti, group energy work, and restorative yoga meant to ease your adrenals, and wake you up to your own life force. Following Release we begin our second cycle of the RISE program. The RISE program is designed to revitalize our intuition, our strength and our Embodiment as women. Deep down you know you are magic. On Wednesdays We Support Pink

Breast Cancer is the reason for Shine Yoga. It came out of my devastating experience as a breast cancer survivor. Each year, Paige organizes a special event to raise money for the amazing Breast Cancer Network of WNY. I’ve taught at the BCN. It’s a beautiful, supportive place, and what I love most about it is that it creates community, it gives survivors and people who are going through treatment support, resources and each other.

This year’s special donation class is in that same vein. It recognizes that cancer leaves deep wounds and it celebrates that we heal them together.

On the 17th, Paige and Sara will co-teach a class that recognizes the deep wounds of cancer ( and life) and celebrates our ability to move past them with a little help from our friends.

Celebrations continue at The Grange post class, where we will be feasting on happy hour priced foods and special cocktails all evening long.

Shine will donate $10 per person attending the class to the BCN. If you have a class pass or membership, we would love an additional donation, but your membership or pass will pay for the class. Drop in price is $20 as usual.

P.S. October 11th is the 6 year anniversary of my diagnosis. I would love if you could be there to help me celebrate making it through and changing my life.
