If you have an injury or illness

Because of my personal experience, teaching people with injuries or illness has become my specialty.  Both my classes and my private and semi private classes are designed as therapeutic yoga to help all my students have less pain, improve their confidence, and ultimately live their life without emotional and physical restrictions. I know the severity of what you are experiencing, I know the fear, and I know how much yoga can help. I will make any class you take safe for you. 

If you want to reduce stress...

All classes include techniques designed to calm the nervous system and reduce stress and end with a full body scan, a relaxation technique. Private and semi-private sessions can also be geared towards giving you tools to reduce stress. The Wednesday evening Yin class and Easy Like Sunday Morning Classes are specifically geared towards stress relief in the studio and for you to use in your life. The classes use props to soften and relax muscles into proper alignment and is wonderful for improving sleep. My  essential oil and yoga workshops, The Essential Yoga Program, is also a good choice for you.  

If you just need a break...

If there are too many demands on you, and you just need some time to challenge yourself, be gentle with yourself, shut out the world and have fun. Shine workshops and classes will help you hit pause and go back to your life renewed and recharged. 

If you are a beginner...

Yoga 101 series and the beginner's drop in are your best bets. A private session is also a great way to get comfortable in a yoga class or a home practice. The yoga check up is also great for beginners. A one on one, its designed to get you ready for class and address any injuries or problems so you feel safe in a class. 

If you are an athlete, or your goal is to build strength and flexibility...

Body mechanics are a key part of every class, this especially benefits athletes because it helps to prevent injuries and teaches you to use your whole body and engage muscles that are frequently ignored, improving your performance.  Private and semi-private classes tailored to a specific sport can help you improve on the mat and in your sport, and workshops focused on a specific body system (hips, upper back, etc) gives you the opportunity to round out your practice in an informed way. The special series, Going Deeper, is body mechanics on steroids. It will teach you to dramatically improve your body awareness and performance. 

If you have or have had Breast Cancer...

As a survivor, I am keenly aware of  the specific physical limitations that come from surgery, dealing with radiation and chemotherapy, addressing lymphodema, the immune system, hormone regulation, insomnia, fear, and chemo brain. I still suffer from many of these and would love to share a practice with you or help you overcome your physical limitations through therapeutic yoga. Patients and survivors are very welcome in my classes, having you in my class is an amazingly powerful experience for me. Students will also benefit from the more than two hundred entries on my blog, My Careful, Joyful Life...after cancer, and tips on leading a cancer prevention focused life. I collaborated with Roswell on a video for cancer patients in the hospital or at home during treatment.
