Beth Licata Cooke

Beth has been passionate about yoga for most of her life and she is thrilled to be teaching yoga in her hometown where her love for yoga was born. She began practicing yoga shortly after an arthritis diagnosis at age 12, and has relied on the healing and pain management abilities of yoga ever since.

After developing her practice mostly on her own, she is proud to have earned her 200-hour certification through Healing Waters Center for Yoga, Health & Mindful Living in East Aurora in 2011. She has been teaching professionally since her certification, and her professional and personal practice has benefited from teaching in varied settings including Healing Waters since 2011, fitness centers including Southtowns Fitness in Hamburg, in private and small group sessions, and also at Veterans Hospital.

Beth thrives on challenges and diversity, and loves the variety of students that she encounters through yoga. Her classes in the studio and fitness center setting range from all levels classes, to restorative practice, to advanced vinyasa. In private lessons, she provides one-on-one instruction custom tailored to her students’ individual needs, often involving stress, chronic pain, disease, and injury. Her work with disabled veterans allows her to focus on breathing techniques, meditation, and subtle stretching for pain management. She is a firm believer that each student is a gift with important lessons for their teacher.
